Dominick, Town Officials Dedicate Column at New Town Hall
6/10/2008 4:00:00 PM Cicero Town President Larry Dominick and members of the Town Board met Monday to etch their names into Cicero's history. The town officials each signed their name on the inside of a panel that was subsequently installed as part of the archway leading into the new town hall scheduled for completion (along with the new police station) this fall. The new municipal complex and community center represents the signature project of Larry Dominick's first term as Cicero Town President, a project that required the support from the Town Board--the kind of teamwork that has also come to be the signature of Dominick's tenure.

Dominick pleased with New Cicero Municipal Complex progress during most recent walk-through
6/9/2008 12:00:00 PM On Wednesday, May 29, Cicero Town President Larry Dominick accompanied Keith Miller, principal of KR Miller Contractors, representatives from Bulley & Andrews, and town economic development director Craig Pesek on a walk-through of the municipal complex site at 50th & Cermak.
Dominick routinely visits the site to check the progress of construction and review the project as it moves toward completion (later this year). "I am pleased with the progress," said Dominick. "The new town hall and police station are taking shape and it's exciting, as we approach the two-year mark, to see things go from conception and design to actual bricks and mortar. I think the residents of Cicero are going to be very happy with their new town center once it is complete-and I know town employees are looking forward to their new work space."

Town Dedicates Classroom 1 at new Community Center to the Memory and Legacy of Catalina Garcia

"New Cicero's" New Municipal Complex Weathering the Winter, On Target for the Fall
3/5/2008 1:00:00 PM The weather certainly has not made it easy on the construction crews diligently working to finish the second phase-the new town hall and police station-of the Town President Larry Dominick's "New Cicero" Municipal Complex. You will recall, the first phase of the project which included the new community center and 350-space parking garage was completed on-time and opened for business in December of 2007. Dozens of events, classes, and activities for both Cicero's youth and its senior citizen community have already taken place in the few short months the community center has been open.

Swift progress continues on New Municipal Complex, Community Center
10/5/2007 12:00:00 PM The construction team for the new Cicero Municipal Complex and Community Center has made great strides in recent weeks. Landscaping and brickwork in the Community Center courtyard has been completed, as the team begins to install the exterior panel system (or Trespa panels) and begins interior finishing work. The Parking Garage pre-cast concrete structure is complete and underground utilities are currently being installed. At the same time, masonry and steel work continues on the Town Hall/Police Station portion of the complex, as underground utilities have been laid and concrete slabs have been pored. Read more...
Final touches being put on new park at 1808 S. Laramie Ave.
10/5/2007 12:00:00 PM The construction team is busy finishing up the final touches on new pavilion building and baseball diamond backstops as work nears completion on the new park at 1808. S Laramie Ave. The sports field lighting is now fully installed, as is the artificial soccer field turf and the bike path around the perimeter of the park. Once the final tasks have been completed, Town President Larry Dominick and the Town will turn administration of the park over the Clyde Park District. Read more...

"New Cicero" Municipal Complex and Community Center on Track
9/4/2007 10:00:00 AM The town's construction team have made great progress on the complex development during the warm weather months of the summer. The development of the three-story, 350-space parking garage and the town's 40,000+ square foot community center is moving along briskly. Among other critical pieces, the gym floor of the community center has been laid. At the same time, crews have laid the foundations for both the new town hall (and begun the steel erection) and the new police station. Read more...
Fields at 1808 S. Laramie Nearing Completion
9/4/2007 10:00:00 AM Town President Larry Dominick is keeping his word to Cicero families. In the coming weeks, the baseball and soccer fields at 1808 S. Laramie will be completed. As passers-by have surely noticed, the field lighting is up as is the superstructure of the utility house (with bathrooms). The town awaits the delivery of the field turf (for soccer) and backstops (for baseball). There is also some landscaping work President Dominick has requested be completed before the park is officially opened and turned over to the Clyde Park District to administer. Spring 2008 will kickoff years of athletics and other family-friendly programming for the children of Cicero. Read more...

Since that time, contractors are moving quickly to demolish the shuttered gymnasium at the 50th & Cermak site to provide the necessary clearance to begin new construction with all due speed. The new 40,000+ square foot youth center (with a gymnasium, a computer lab and classroom space) is scheduled for completion in early 2008 with the entire complex anticipated for completion by the fall of 2008.
